Description

This reservoir is on Jabalón river, which is part of the river Guadiana large catchment. It is situated at 635 m a.s.l. in a clay and basalt basin. It was built in 1955 and has a capacity of 33.41x106 m3. It is used for irrigation, and energy production. Fields dedicated to intensive rain-fed agriculture surround the reservoir. In 1998 it was declared fauna reserve. The closest city is Ciudad Real.
