Description

The reservoir is at headwaters of river Júcar catchment. It was built in 1960 in a canyon on limestone in the Guadalaviar river. It is located at 970 m a.s.l and has a capacity of 22x106 m3. More than 80% of its catchment is covered by conifer forest and scrubs. It is main purpose is water supply to the city of Teruel, but it is also used for energy production, irrigation and recreation (fishing and nautical sports)
